PowerDesk Pro 6 malfunctions intermittenly

PowerDesk Pro 6

at 84 I am thick as mud.
My prior solution was to leave 6 on in program files
and install 5 in C:\ and that is where it is and works
Now if I uninstall 6 and reinstall 5 to where, program file or to C:\
If I install 5 to program files can I then remove 5 from C:\

 

First remove all versions. Then install the version 5 into C:\Programs.

84 and still computing, you're my hero!! I'm only a pup of 70.

PowerDesck Pro 6 Problem completely resolved

I decided to remove Power Desk Pro 5 and
reinstall xp sp2 home edition
during this I got a warning message thet Diskeeper 9
was incompatable with xp
Then it hit me, I have bee running Diskeeper to monitor
fragmentation and correct as needed
I completed xp installation
removed powerdesk 5 and 6
removed diskeeper 9
and reinstalled powerdesk 6 and it is running perfect
also my system restore had quit responding and now it
was fixed
then checked for and got an update to diskeeper 9 and
reinstalled it and did not set it to load at starrtup and monitor
fragmentation
I defragged manually using Diskeeper 9
Everything is working now and I am all out of breath from telling
this story.

 

Thanks for the update hawkeye. It may save someone else a lot of grief.

It seems that Diskeeper 9 is a little unfriendly to some systems.
