I see what you mean, but what is FF1.0.4? It must be a nightly, so, anything could go. My 1.0.3 , and, in fact all gecko browsers align equally (if javascript is on), although I agree that the frame can cause problems, without adding anything that I can see.

It's a nightly aviary build, based on the last release. As you can see in the accompanying screenshot, I've just upgraded to today's build. It still shows Gecko revision 1.7.8, whereas today's trunk build (more cutting edge) is already at 1.8b2.

    Jim,
I have no question about the builds, but I was thinking that something in them may be the cause of the different display.
At this time, once I set everything correctly, I feel that the original question by our friend has been answered, as all final versions which I have display equally, and correctly. As for the future, who knows?

It is not particularly worth purpuing, but I got two nightlies from the Aviary (fox in the Aviary?, not a good idea) dated 5-1, which were in the .zip format. The User Agents are: 1.8b2 aviary with User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050501 Firefox/1.0+ and Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050501 Firefox/1.0.4
    Both render quite well.
