I picked up a used monitor (AOC Spectrum 9G1rs) and it has a pinkish hue in the right third of the screen.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? I was used at a business where I am sure the monitor was left on 24/7; could this be "burn in" or is the monitor just old? Looks like it was manufactured in 2002.

I have already downloaded and installed the correct drivers from AOC and even got a manual from them (which is a little lame but better than nothing).

I'm not freaking out over it,,,,just curious. I do like it better than my CTX 1765GMe.

Not burn in - just old I guess:) The RGB guns must be getting tired after 5 years @ 27/7 or the phosphors are going.

If you can try changing the colour temperature of the screen - 6500 deg K is optimum, 9300 is much colder (bluer) the other option - can't remember the value is much warmer. Might minimise the colour shift - or at least change it.

Based on what I've seen when monitors are dying, most likely, that monitor is on its way out. Even if it could be fixed, it would not make economic sense.

Thanks for the replies. Just wondered. Will try the Color temp to see what happens. Will post back in a few.

Edit: 6500 lessens the effect a little better than 9300.

    Thanks again
