This has been downloaded onto my system which has not been requested.

I quote from a website I found say that "Personal Antivirus is a rogue anti-spyware application, fake spyware remover. This parasite is a clone of General Antivirus and Internet Antivirus Pro. Personal Antivirus usually generates fake and misleading security related pop-up window:D:mad:s and alert notices about various infections. The main goal is trick the user into purchasing the full version of PersonalAntivirus.

Personal Antivirus enters the system using trojan virus called Vundo. Once active, the rogue performs fake system scan and reports various bogus results. However, it simply fabricates those security reports and asks to pay for deleting imaginary infections. It is obvious that Personal Antivirus is unable to detect nor to delete any kind of infections. Simply because this parasite was designed to do opposite. It is very important to ignore those fake alert notices and remove Personal Antivirus from the system as soon as possible ".

Have any members experiencing this and if so have they been able to eliminate this from their computer. I can ignore it but is a nuisance.

Awwww...c'mon, Arie! You're both at the same longitude/latitude. Why don't ya just walk over there and fix it?!

...Oh yeah... it's a malware issue. After it's clean, you're in charge of maintaining it though. ;)

    Malware and Virus Removal

    Hi Mailman

We do not need to get together. I have now fixed it and have rid myself of an annoying infiltration onto my system.

System Restore is a Godsend. and this facility is there to be used.

    Hi, Jacobowicz. :)

I was just joking. I'm sorry about any confusion.

Anyway, here's a link to another possible resolution (for the benefit of other people).
I provided the link for the benefit of other people who may have the same/similar problem and discover your "[Resolved]" thread (i.e., via Google) during their search for a fix.

However, Arie's suggestion above (to post necessary details in the Malware & Virus Removal forum) is probably better, especially if someone suspects they might have other malware in their computers as well.

If you think System Restore fixed this problem, you are going to be disappointed to learn otherwise. Most of these malware writers are very good at their craft.

    ;)

    Personal antivirus and Trojans etc...

    Hi Rockster2U

I shall just have to wait and see. Been without it for a whole 48 hours.

Another way in which I try to deter them and to keep it away is to continually bombard them with spam messages and threats to take legal action which I send to 'support@innovagest2000.com' who appear to have got my message.

It might only be a coincidence but it has worked for me so far.
