I have been trying to remove a file from my computer that has recently begun adding programs to my computer without my knowledge or permission. Using "uninstall" and deleting specific files not visible via Control Panel Uninstall, I have been able to remove all but 6 files. One of these is named "AutoUpdateServicePlugin.dll" which I presume is the culprit adding unwanted programs.

When I try to remove them, I get to a point where it says "You need permission to perform this action ". I am the only user and administrator on this computer, however this apparently makes no difference!

Can you help me? Or should this problem be listed elsewhere?

Hi synbar and welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Please read this and post requested logs in the Malware and virus removal board.

    NOTES:
When posting the logs ensure word wrap is switched off (in notepad Uncheck Format->Word Wrap) as this makes them difficult to read.

Be aware that only Malware analysts will advise and they are often busy. Your post will be taken on a first come first served basis but it may take a while before you receive a reply.

Include a link to this thread if you can.
