    Hi Abraxas!

Yes, but I´ve only got one physical HardDrive with three partitons. As I understand it, in terms of access speed, it doesn´t matter on which partition I put it.

    Edited:

Unless, as You´ve pointed out previously, it is put in a separate partition at the front of the drive. In front of the system partiton too, that is.

    Didn't realise

    Hi

I didn't realise you are in Sweden ! I was about to tell you to look out for the coupon on Crucial - I got £3 off each of the memory cards !

Your right about the one hard drive - I am the same thus the advice was to keep it on 'C'

I will read the country of origin next time

Well, we don´t get those coupons in Sweden but I haven´t bought anything yet in a computer store without getting at least 10% off the price.

    Ghost 2003 cost SEK799 (~$94) but I carried it away for SEK649 (~$76) ...... :D ...... some 20% off!

    primary or logical

Should an alternate hard drive pagefile be formatted as a primary or logical partition?

I would partition the harddrive as an extended partition with the required number of logical partitions, including the partition dedicated to the pagefile.

I now have two harddrives but the pagefile is still on C: where the installer put it.
The second harddrive is in a mobile rack and interchangeable with other harddrives. In my case, it would require one partition for the pagefile on each harddrive and I doubt that the performance increase would be noticeable.

An additional benefit of using Norton Ghost is that restoring an Image, relocates the pagefile to the optimum position on C: (at the front) and if You make it semi-fixed in size (768 - 1536 MB in my case), it will stay in an unfragmented state.
