Here is a store folder below now after changing to new one. At first I changed to outlook express and realized it should have probobly been ron mail backup.

    C:\Documents and Settings\ron dombcik\My Documents\Outlook Express\ron mail backup

Now I think my problem was that I tried to copy/paste and didn't use run to paste, so now I think I'm ok. If I paste this in run I do get the files.

Ron you have me somewhat confused - let's recap .....

Your new Store Folders should be ......

    C:\Documents and Settings\ron dombcik\My Documents\Outlook Express\Ron

    C:\Documents and Settings\ron dombcik\My Documents\Outlook Express\Mrs Ron
and each identity in OE should point to the appropriate store folder. You should not name the folder as a backup - it is the 'live' store folder for OE.

Am I right in thinking that you have only one User on the computer - you or is your wife also a User and logs on separately?

To back up each folder to your external drive it is only necessary to copy the Outlook Express folder directly from My Documents over - with OE closed otherwise the files are in use.

I don't follow your comments about using run to paste.

I'm ok now Pete, but yes we both use the computer without login and have separate email accounts. When I checked to verify the new files I failed to use the copy-paste to start-run as I had a memory lapse and just copied store and pasted on temporary folder. On top of that I selected Outlook Express in store which wasn't the extension including ron mail backup or vera mail backup. That happened because when I did the change I only selected outlook express. Cofusing I'm sure but I have now verified the correction. I had a little clearer head this morning. Hope my explanation makes sense. Thanks again for your help and patience.
