My neighbor recently had to update her q.com account and is unhappy with Qwest's website for email so.. I set up O. Express 6 for her, once myself and once while on the phone with Qwest with the same result, a screen pops up in Outlook Ex. asking for for user name and PW even though the info is there and correct (I retyped on several occasions to make sure) no matter what, that little window doesn't go away. Qwest blamed it on O Ex. and told me to reinstall... "Dumb ", I thought but did it anyway, didn't help, can anyone?

Welcome to the boards. You need to give us more info.
What OS are we talking about here?
    What did you reinstall?
If you are getting that popup, you don't have something set up right.

oops. ok, The OS is XP Home and Outlook Express is the program I reinstalled. I know that something is not set up right, that's why I ran through the setup again with Qwest on the phone when I got the same result: (pop up window wanting username and password) Qwest told me it was The fault of Outlook Express and to reinstall it. They seemed to not know what the difficulty was. Neither do I, and that's why I'm here.

If I still haven't given enough information please let me know, as I am new.

You can repair OE, but as far as I know not reinstall it. What are you settings in OE. Give us everything but your address and password.

ok I will, I won't have access to that machine until later today, but as soon as I do I will post all the details I can.
I took a screen shot of every step of the account set up, showing what boxes are checked and what is filled in in each space for my own reference, can I upload that somehow?

Ok so I too have had nothing but problems trying to configure Qwest with their new "update" all was ok before they have done this. I have asked Qwest, looked at their tutorials, searched etc... and everybody seem to have a different idea of how this needs to be set up. Part of the problem, I think, is there is a Qwest that is Q.com but they also have qwest.net both of which you can get emails from. Who has the right configurations for this? Thanks

Thank you for posting, I've been unable to log on.

My situation was resolved by changing the password both in Outlook Express and online. Even though the original WAS correct, this was a last ditch effort and it worked. Thanx for the help.
Julieb I'm just about an expert at this 1 thing having reset Outlook Express for q.com about 15 times, I have a screen shot of every step if that is what you may need, but I suggest if the only problem is an error message when connected with O Express, stay on the phone with Qwest until you're satisfied with the result.
