Outlook 2003 Can't receive new msgs and more

Problems w/ my mailbox.pst & my personal folders. Cannot receive new msgs from the server (I use Network Solutions) & cannot send new msgs from Outlook (also can't reply to msgs in my inbox or personal folders).

History: Yesterday installed Fujitsu ScanSnap s/w and today tried to install Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard. Couldn't install Adobe s/w b/c didn't have enough RAM. Fujitsu s/w installed successfully after 3 tries, but didn't have enough RAM to operate the scanner. I deinstalled Fujitsu s/w. While the Fujitsu s/w was deinstalling, got error msg that Adobe had not finished installing & did I want to remove that partial installation. Clicked OK, but got another msg saying that couldn't be done. So the Fujitsu s/w completed deinstalling.

Ran scanpst.exe, but that didn't help. Tried running scanost.exe, but got error msg that app wouldn't start b/c the msmapi32.dll file was not found. Located the file, tried to rename it, but this did not resolve problems.
