Admin suggests this should now be in ,' Malware'
The Problem The entire history can be seen in 'Security' under same heading)
A member of our forum received a message that he should upgrade his IE from 6 to 9, he downloaded IE 9 , IE switched it to IE 8 because he has XP OS,
Downloaded ok, he downloaded Google Chrome.
Then he noticed he had Norton Ikon on his desktop,Tried to uninstall it from Norton uninstall, did not uninstall
Tried uninstall from Add/ remove, did not,
Tried Norton removal tool, it said it had 'removed' Norton' 'it had not'.
The Norton Scan was a scan(m) that would have corrected faults the scan had 'found' on the purchase of Norton system,
We think the unwanted Norton Scan came in with the download of Google Chrome because 'Norton Google Chrome' showed up in the bottom bar, and a box was left ticked that should have been cleared.

Thanks PeteC, might give your previous suggestion in the Security forum, to do a System Restore, first , before we do the Logs, it is something the owner understands, if not we will be back to do the Logs, I will let you know,

Problem solved, owner could not wait for Logs to be sent and sorted , so I downloaded my version (legal) of XP because his version kept bleeping on installation.
this can now be classified as Resolved in whatever forum you like,
