"Hi Robert, have you managed to clean out Norton? Mike Flynn has posted a procedure to follow on this subject which I used to clean out my comp. After using Norton's cleaner there are still an amazing number of Symantec and Norton keys still lying about in the comp. Do a search for Mike's post as I would swear by it. Happy New Year. Neil. "

I ran the removal tool this seems to go further don't know what it is called. Appears to be a simplified reg cleaner.

    Hi Robert,

Do you have a link to Mike Flynn's article or wherever it was you were advised to use this cleaner? It may help locate what you are looking for?

    Hi Robert,

    That helped a lot, :D

You can download RNav from MajorGeeks

Be sure you know what you're doing when editing the registry though. Best to back it up first.

    See this Microsoft Article

    Robert,

The microsoft link in my previous post shows you how to do it in XP, there's links at the bottom of the article for Vista and Windows 7.

You might like to try the uncrippled trial of jv16PowerTools and search for Norton and Symantec.

One of the rare occasions I would recommend the use of a Registry Cleaner :)

 would you recommend I run these serially the other first or just this one?
Is it fairly fool proof I really don't want to do another reinstall of this been a battle to get all the drivers together?
Thanks just trying to avert a self imposed disaster.

I would run the tool from the link Wildfire posted (#2) first and then jv16.

Note that jv16 offers to back up the registry entries to be removed - accept that option and you are as safe as you can be :)
