    I solved my cooling issue!

I ended up looking at buying a digital Thermaltake controller as shown here:

    http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=11732&vpn=A1845&manufacture=THERMALTAKE

What I did, in the mean time, was check out a Radio Shack for a potentiometer. They had nothing for me but guided me to a place that would. The guy at Radio Shack suggests I swap the yellow and red leads on the fan terminals, thereby effectively sending only 5V to the fans. I think it a great idea in that this will show me what happens at 5V as far as air flow & noise are concerned.

I get home and do the swap on both fan leads and turn the computer on. The fans are smooth, seemed to flow reasonably, and are relatively quiet (like a low-budget fan is). I pull a brand new 31 cfm fan out of my old P3 and swap it with one Tornado while leaving the other Tornado unplugged. One would be splitting hairs to tell the difference.

So all is well now and I now know that adding the aforementioned potentiometer to the case will allow me to wind the Tornados up just a bit more until the noise is a bit much.

Thanx for all your consideration in this matter. All of you have been just swell and I guess my PC is running at its peak. As mentioned before, I am just underwhelmed is all. Nothing like looking into things, though.

I usually cool my hard drive with one of these .
And I just ordered one of these because I'm getting sick and tired of my cpu's HSF sounding like a Hoover.

119 CFM!!!!!!!!!!!! That outsucks our family vacuum! Or should I say "blows "...or I should I just drop this subject. :D
