On your flash.ocx version, maybe explorer just needed to be refreshed when it still appeared as version 6.0.29 right after the install. Glad it is actually 6.0.47.

By the way, I noticed I added a comma to my link for http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp
in my previous post, in case you were wondering why it didn't work!

Don't be too disappointed with NS7Compact having replaced the Netscape Live Audio plugin with Beatnik. Who knows, you might like it, and if not, you can simply copy over npaudio.dll from your Communicator Plugins folder to your Netscape7 Plugins folder, at which point it will be the last plugin installed and it will "take over ".

If you're still undecided about which browser to install, don't exclude Mozilla 1.0.1 It's an 11MB download from http://www.mozilla.org/ and it is running fine on my little old Pentium II 233 with 64 MB ram. The ad-blocking preference is already built in, as it is in HMetzger's NS7 Compact version. In the other NS7 versions you need to install the adblocker.xpi -see http://techaholic.net/ns7.html#002

Mozilla is missing AIM entirely, but you can still launch aim from your Communiator folder with Mozilla running, or in IE, for that matter. I have a bookmark in my Mozilla Personal Toolbar folder to "file:///C|/Program Files/Netscape/Users/wyman/launch.aim"
and another shortcut to "C:\Program Files\NETSCAPE\Communicator\Program\AIM\aim.exe" on my Start menu so I can easily launch AIM from anywhere, if that's important to you.

Mozilla is also missing the e-mail spellchecker included on all Netscpe7 versions but that can be installed from a separate download. I'm using the RC3 spellchecker available to install from the download ink at http://spellchecker.mozdev.org/installation.html

With Mozilla, you also won't have a netscape.net e-mail account available in the mail program but unless you want to use the Netscape Mail feature I wouldn't be too concerned. The web-based netscape e-mail is still available at http://ncmail.netscape.com

Then there's Beonex 0.8.1 which is based on Mozilla 1.0.1 code

    http://www.beonex.com/communicator/

Guess that gives you a bit more to digest :)
