    Mark,
It's good to know that the Acronis Plus Pack adds incremental backup of multi partitioned drives for your needs. I don't need that level of complexity -- only one partition on all my drives.

I'm now using the basic ATI 2010 program's Non-Stop Backup to run constant incremental backup in the background, updating every 5 minutes. It consolidates everything automatically every 24 hours. I'd say from my short experience so far that the load is close to zero. It jumps in during slack times and doesn't interfere with foreground operations at all.

I hate the thought of needing a new operating system from Microsoft to address the need for flexible backups, which has existed since way back. Apparently, Acronis does it all, very well, right now.

I'm glad I started this thread! I've been in need of this solution for a very long time.

Thanks again for your help and sticking in there with me.

    Frank :)

Mark, (and others who opt for ATI Home 2011 version)

FYI: You may want to check out this thread on the Acronis True Image Home Forum:
ATI Home 2011 Backups very slow compared with ATI Home 2010

Not used 2010 version but 2011 version seems to backup in reasonable time and there was a big update to the software so maybe that fixed some of the problems reported.
