    Pete,
The directions were easy to follow and everything worked like a charm, The files are in the Acer but I cannot open them. There are a couple of set up icons and they tell me part of the program cannot be installed. Somewhere I got my wires crossed, I inserted the stick into the Acer and copied the files from the stick and pasted into program files in C drive on the Acer. Did I leave out a step?

You can't do that :) The files on the CD are the installation files and the program must be installed by running setup.exe - from the USB drive.

    Let's step back .....

Please confirm - you have a retail copy of Office on CD?

The Acer came loaded with a Trial - 60 days?

What is there in Add/Remove Programs relating to Office - all relevant entries

There is one entry in the add/remove for office and it was last used on 1/21/09 The computer came with a 60 day trial version. I bought the software with disk and it was validated as authentic when I was trying to open it, I did not run any set up from the flash drive, this is where my mistake is, how do you do that.?
    Thanks for your help,
    Dee

Look for setup.exe on the USB drive and double click on it to run. Follow the onscreen instructions. Hopefully the installation will run - these 60 day trials seem to cause a lot of problems.

    Pete,
That worked to a tee. Thanks for being so patient with me, I'm older and didn't grow up in the computer age and it takes me a little longer sometimes. That's the reason I have so many post with questions. I have an open post now, I can't get a wireless laptop to connect to a printer and I haven't heard any thing from that post in days.

Glad to have been able to help out :)

If I can find your other post I'll bump it.
