I don't know whether this is a firefox issue or a Windows 7 issue because it is only happening with Windows 7 on a new laptop.

the first time I login to firefox, it tells me it is invalid

the second time it says the windowsbbs is an invalid url

the third time I can get with the same username and password.

I think this may have something to do with windows security procedures

Well, have you tried Internet Explorer yet. If so how did it work out for you.
If it works on IE I'd suggest uninstalling FF Revo Uninstaller deleting all registry and files ocoosiated with it then reinstall FireFox and if it still don't work I highly recommend Google Chrome.

. This is obscure. I have, never, needed to login to open any browser. One may have to login to start using the computer, but not individual programs.
. It may have been typed in incorrectly.
Typically, one has to make sure that the username/password are saved, and, by habit, I never logoff, so Windowsbbs opens where I want it. But, if start from scratch, I may have to enter the username/password on the upper right of the page.
I would try IE, first, because thproblems encounterefd make little sense.

I was not clear in my explanation of the problem.

I meant that I have to login to this forum 3 times before I can get in.

the reason I confused this with the browser issue is that I have this blue and gold shield attached to the desktop shortcuts of many of my downloaded programs. This shield looks like the Ms programs shield but has different colors and I think it is a Sony Vaio care thing.

It was making me approve every program before I started it.

I suspected this may have been related to the forum login problem.

But this problem seems to have improved somewhat. I still had to login twice to this forum this time.

Win 7 or this laptop or both seem jumpy. what I type in boxes keeps disappearing that the cursor takes a trip all the way across the screen.

    I deleted Norton.
I just checked it again and this shield might be Windows security.
