A few days ago I suddenly stated seeing multiple windows fr IE error messages pop up on the computer when surfing the web. When you first open IE it is fine- no error. Click any link, new tab, search etc then these windows begin to crop up showing IE attempted to ope a pop up site address that is not valid. The link shown is always the same and is a random seeming charcter string of wingdings and forgein supported characters, German, Spanish are two specail characters I recognized immedately.

Using normal charcacter sets this is the the string shown.
    Cannot find 'http://}nCuS2 r,,`x A~/#e4HYIDoE>?|.....and so on...

I searched this site formums and found some related to an issue with McAffee- I don't run McAffee and the characters are not chinese just german and spanish that I see.

I saw one other unsolved in Internet Explorer formum but was unable to find via search today. I took the initative to run the steps that seemed to follow most threads- Pulled Super Anti-Spyware, Malwarebytes and GMER and ran them as instructed- safe mode with settings in other posts.

Before posting all of my log info I figured I would just ask if perhaps I missed a thread where this is fixed and detailed first. I can't find one using search and the pop up errors flood every click I make which makes manual search of forums very difficult, but am still looking.

ThinkPad running XP Service pack 3, IE 8, Norton security suite- Super Anti SPyware and Mawarebytes all found fairly innocuous stuff so I sspect its just an annoying adware piece one of them may have partially stopped but a left over bit remains. I tried no add ons- that did not stop the error boxes either. I don't see any rogue services or processes that jump out at me.

Happy to follow any fix suggestions.
