Resolved MSE fails to protect computer.

Revo Uninstaller does not work properly on a 64 bit system. It will leave stuff behind. It works perfect on a 32 bit though.

MSE is not tied to WLM I know lots of people that use WLM and do not use MSE.

 

In my case, using Revo to uninstall MES, after which WLM has also been uninstalled completely no reference of WLM can be found on my computer.
It requires a visit to Microsoft to download a copy of WLM that apparently is MES. Sometimes, MES allows to select only WLM. Is there a procedure were I can make a copy on a USB stick or hard drive permanently for future use? Thanks Bobby.

 

They must of fixed it to do 64 bit.

You will find Microsoft Security Essentials is 'active' click on that and you will then open a page where you select your language then the 'version' you want. (in your case W7 64 bit)
A small downlosd opens where you can Save to your Downloads/Documents/Desktop. From there you can right click on the Saved MSE and Send to your thumbdrive where you can install on any suitable PC. Neil.
PS. You can do the same with WLM or WLE.
