IE will not let me open it up. It keeps telling me it's not responding. I can use Firefox as a browser no problem but not IE. I also get a "Picture Invalid" in a Notepad window when trying to open certain drives on my PC. I also can't use/open any Microsoft program. This happened out of the blue with no warning. I have scanned for viruses but found none and reset the modem but nothing seems to get IE or any office product working working. I tried the fix program from Microsoft but it keeps crashing and wont let me install it. I am assuming I have some MS bug but I can't do anything if I don't know what it is. Anyone got any ideas? Appreciate the assistance. Many thanks in advance.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

We encourage all members to complete their System Specifications which help us to help you :)

At the very least we need to know which Operating System (XP, Vista or 7) you are running, which version of Internet Explorer (6, 7 or 8) and the version of Office would be helpful too.

It would seem that your issues may well be connected.

Hi BrendaFalcon. I saw in your System Specs that your running Windows Vista. Could you tell us what version of IE you are running as well as what version of Microsoft Office like Pete stated above?

Also it would be helpful if you could tell us what Vista Service Pack your running. To find what service pack you have installed click Start< Right click Computer and click Properties. When the properties window opens it will tell you what version of Windows Vista you are running and if you have a Service Pack installed then it will list that information as well.

    And also please clarify .....
Do you mean a drive as it C:\, D:\, etc or a Folder, say Windows, My Documents (if that exists in Vista - never ran it), etc.

For the moment I am moving this to the Vista forum as the issue is not related to IE alone.
