    My System Specs:

    Processor: Pentium Dual-Core CPU E5300 @ 2.60GHz
RAM: 4GB although XP 32bit only recognizes 3GB
Motherboard: Biostar GF87100P-M7 with Intergrated NVIDIA GEFORCE 7100/nforce 630i
    Memory: DDR2, 4096MB
Graphics card (new): NVIDIA GeForce GT 220, 1GB DDR2, VGA, DVI, HDMI

After uninstalling the driver to the on-board chipset, and disabled the driver by device manager, then plugging in the new graphics card and installing the driver for it, I seem to be having various issues with the monitor. It ranges from freezing and slowly pixelating and going white, the position of the screen move fully to the left, or only half way, to the monitor not picking the signal. I checked to make sure the new card was slotted in securely and properly, which it was. Now i thought it may have been a clash of drivers, however because of the fact that all i need to do is turn the monitor of and on for the screen to return to normal. However it gets very frustrating having to do this several times withing 5 minutes. My monitor is actually a Logik TV which allows VGA input, which is what im using. I am wondering if this is more a case of the Graphics cards or rather the monitor itself. Another thing, BIOS does not have a disable option for the onboard GPU but rather, it has a "Always Enable ", or "Enable if no Ext GPU ". It was automatically set to the second option which explains why i could not see the drivers for my onboard gpu when i looked.

    Help!!

Hi, I tried to check details of your motherboard and can't get a result with the model number you have provided. It could be that your motherboard would have automatically disabled the onboard graphics when you first booted with the new card installed.

I would remove the new card and driver, re-enable anything you disabled and re-install the chipset drivers so everything is back to where it was when you started. Then re boot with the new card installed. Your system should detect the new hardware. All you will have to do is install the driver for the new board.

If there is a problem I will investigate further but will need the correct number for your motherboard.

Following Marks advice, it would be better to add your system details to your profile ;)

If this is your main system it would be helpful if you add your system details to your profile. Please click on the link and follow those instructions it could save some time when resolving this or further issues.

A common error is to forget to show your system details in your profile

If you do add your system specifications be sure to do the above :)

Sorry, there wasnt supposed to be an 8 in that motherboard model, correct number is: GF7100P-M7

Also, i have done all that with no success. i have been suggested to that it maybe a case of downloading a specific monitor driver for the tv i use because it runs on a default driver however, i cannot find a driver for this tv. Im less inclined to believe it is a problem with the system because usually turning of the monitor and turning it back in in my eyes would not return the screen to normal....ill try get the specs up asap

It does sound to me like this is a driver problem for the display. It may be your best bet to contact the supplier of the monitor and see what they recommend.

Do the monitor and new graphics card show up in device manager with or without a yellow triangle?

What is the full name and model number of the monitor?

Is this the same monitor you used before the graphics were upgraded, if not try the old monitor (or borrow one) and see what happens. This may just prove that it is the monitor driver.
