RL, afraid that is one check thhat I did not know to do, but certainly will do so now, thanks.
Network adapters: Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless Realtek PCIe Family Controller plus 8 noted Wan Miniports.
    Open screen at bootup-:192.168.0.1/?tool_troubleshooter&mid=troubleshooterConnectionproblem.
On clicking its window shows : We are havingtrouble connecting you to the Internet. Click the button above. We will try to fix your problem. | clicking button is not responsive. | Cicking the [Skip] button, then requires to sign in. Sign in to modify your Virginmedia HUB 3.0 settings. On opening, entries appear to be correct. As I said previously, connection to the Internet is not the issue, the issue is how to remove and stop the Troubleshooter screen. This at requires the X top right of its screen to close it at each boo-up.

In answer to my question - you only have one (1) Realtek entry?

This suggests to me that the message appearing when you start your computer could be corruption or malware.

My next action would be to go into > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click on Realtek controller > click on Uninstall > Close out > then Shut down computer.
Start your computer again and let it install the Controller again and see if the message has gone.

RL, Checked today for the 192.168.0. diagnostic error, and find it still persists to upload and display at bootup. Your suggestion was hoped to be the solution looked for.

As far as it looks, he hasn't even tried to uninstall it. Takes less than a couple of minutes to do.

Four post above my last post. RL posted it.

My next action would be to go into > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click on Realtek controller > click on Uninstall > Close out > then Shut down computer.
Start your computer again and let it install the Controller again and see if the message has gone.

Mr Bill, thank you. Your last reference has been caaried out on three seperate times and still error persists. Error that is a diagnostic program which appears to opens as it finds a fault with the Modem (Router), this appears to be incorrect as the Web opens and functions as it should. Resetting the modem is now a new additional problem, as it refuses to recognise the factory set password. Previous setting readings appeared to show all were in order.

RL, I have read and tried content of your last post, thank you. I am made to believe that software 192.168 is a diagnostic analyser that shows when a fault with the modem is found. Modem appears to be functioning properly as I am able to connect and use the Web. The caption does not appear if modem is left on permanently and not closed with a shut down of computer.

Bobby, Have you followed the instructions on the Virgin web site in regards to doing a Reset and how to connect a W10 computer?
    https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-reset-your-hub
    https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-connect-windows-device-to-wifi
All the info you require is on these links.
I think the fault lies in the Virgin software and doing a complete Reset should rectify any corruption in the software.

As an aside, I have just had a similar problem which arose with my HP printer.
An update automatically installed by HP caused a message to appear on my screen when starting my comp.
This update in fact required me to Run the original HP CD supplied with the printer to install a small but necessary .dll which obviously got corrupted/deleted by the HP update.
The message that appeared on the screen stated that the .dll was needed and fortunately I remembered on some previous occasion that the message asked for the Disc to be installed to complete the update process.
Once the Disc was started to Run the Setup it only took about about 15 to 20 seconds for operation to complete and the message never appeared again.

I'm wondering whether this similar operation maybe required by your Modem.
You won't have a CD/DVD for the Modem software but a Reset should do the trick.
The fiddly part doing the Reset is guiding the paperclip in through the small hole to do the Reset.
Please follow the instructions carefully in the links I have provided as the information looks to be very exact.

RL, Virginmedia instructions were carried out to the letter and in fact carried out twice, with a reset thrice times. When Virginmedia carried out the HUB 3 installation, there was no disk left if required for future needs. Hub 3 must be at least three years since installed and up till now this annoying opening screen was not an issue.. I realise and thank you for trouble in trying to rectifying this for me, certainly appreciated. Bobby.

This would only leave a Fresh Install of Windows 10 to remove the annoying error message.
Someone may be able to advise a Registry hack to remove it - but that is beyond my ability.
Sorry but I will bow out as I have run out of suggestions. ;)

RL, my thanks for your help appreciated. I did a Registry check and removed entries relating to 192.168, but this too showed negative. I agree that a Fresh Install of Windows 10 could be the answer but not guaranteed and a Refresh is a real pain to carry out. It looks like a permanent tick of the X top corner of 192.168 at bootup, or leave the Modem switched on permanently, choice entirely mine. Thank you again.

Why do you shut your modem off? Mine is only off when I have a power failure. It probably doesn't burn a dollars worth of electricity a year.

Mr Bill, what you say makes good sense, in my case old habits die hard. My mother told me, if it is'nt used switch it off, in those yester years money was realy scarce and every penny was accountable and it was during the war.
Why is the caption repeats to be shown? is there really a fault for me to find but not show. Thanks.

RL, It maybe the solution, the hard drive used for various software titles became rogue and unusuable, contents transferred to another externel hard drive. Since then, the 192.168.0 caption, has certainly not shown, at bootup of computer.
