MoBo or What?

HJ,
I`ll poke and prod and push, gently while I`m awaiting my new RAM.
I live in the boonies here in Southern Iowa, and I`ll have to order it on the computer. I don`t have quick access to parts any other way.
I put that last link you gave me, to the BBS forum, in my favorites. Looks like a good one. I learn a lot just reading and lurking.

Came back to report. The above thread got into what looked like my problem, pretty good. evidently this board has a "5V problem" they even had a factory guru helping. Anyway, I tried removing the transistor? resistor? (looked like a transistor to my inexperienced eye.) But my problem persists. I`ve found a refurbished 8K7A on the web for $67 at new egg, I think I`ll get one and put it in this case with all it`s goodies. Clever, huh? Thanks for all your Help.

oh dear - that all looks seriously unimpressive - reckon best I can do is to wish you better luck with the new motherboard...
