Believe you hit the nail on the head! Didn't wait long but it does't take long for the file to get into AdWare. I changed both mine and Grouch's PC to contain a URL as Home Page. Ran Adware on both and all comes up clean. She reminded me that this started only recently. Now I suspect it started with the New or Updates of Adware.

Newt, BillyBob, and Noahdfear I sure appreciate your time and effort to help with this. Another example of how much the site is worth and my becoming a Contributing Member is a very small price for the valuable information. Best money I've spent in a long time.

BillyBob: The HDValet deletes all temp folders/files, even those that Cleanup leaves. But good information.

You bet, Mudd. Glad we got to the bottom of it. I know it must have been frustrating. ;)

Mudd - as an alternative to starting on a blank page, let me send you a copy of the home page I use for startup. Simple page I wrote myself a few years ago and easy to modify to put links to the places you like to start.

I have just links and a live weather box. When I fire up the browser and all is well, I see current weather. If it isn't there, I don't have internet. But in all cases, it loads quick.

When you get the thing (with some basic instructions, do a view source and you can see how it is built and how to make changes for yourself.

That way you have a page you can tweak to suit yourself (even remove everything if you want) but won't have to deal with the about:blank issues.

Or leave your homepage set to any preferd page and make a new Internet explorer shortcut that start's blank, Adaware will still target it but you can safely exclude it
simply make a shortcut to iexplorer.exe then right click > properties >
    change the target value to
    "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome

Newt - Got the email. This will be interesting to do and learn at the same time.

Lonny - That too sounds interesting. May do what Newt has suggested and follow to get it by using your method. Hope I can do that.

Thank you both. Here is the link I settled on last night. http://www.jeromy.net/chr/

Fast loader and offers some information at the same time.

Nice page Mudd! Much faster speed test than I've been using too!! BTW,
    • speed 3.7 Mbits/sec * highest 3.7 Mbits/sec * lowest 1.4 Mbits/sec * average 2.6 Mbits/sec
I guess I can live with that. :D

Hey Newt, I'd like a copy of that too. ;)

    Dave

The Cable Installer used that when he installed my Cable system. I tried to get a look at the address but he click off before I could see it. I asked him for the address and he said "it was for our testing only and didn't want to have the public hogging it up." Big Deal! Bet he was just a contrary guy. He forgot or didn't know about History in PCs. So much for the Testing Only.

Dave, thanks for the help here and in the past.
