microsoft update hangs and fails install on KB890830

I rebooted Mike. Then I set BITs to manual. Then stopped and started service. Starts and stops as requested. I do not have any updates to install, to check if m.update site will D/L and install now. I suppose I have to wait until 'patch' Tuesday.

 

OK sounds like ordeal is over and you have BITS working!

Yes I'm glad it's resolved. I appreciate all the help, especially from you & Arie. I'll let you know how I make with the next round of updates.

 

Mike I tried to D/L and install windows search update and got this:
Weird that the update size is 0 KB maybe this is a website issue. Please tell me it's not my computer, I don't live close to a tall building.

 

Not enough info to tell what is happening. This is not a critical update so what is more important right now is all are other updates downloading and installing properly.

If so forget this for a while as it is not something you just have to have.

What does a tall building have to do with it, do you have a wireless ISP?

If all else works then it would not be that anyway.

Mike, none of todays updates would install. Showed them all downloading then they all failed to install. Did them all manually from catalogue. I give up.
