Since MS touted Win10 as the last Windows ever, it's time to junk it & switch to Linux.

Being forced to new hardware is very unrealistic.

I have a perfectly good computer now that should last several more years... Replacing it will just ****.

Luckily you can upgrade to Windows 11 on older hardware even if that hardware doesn't officially support Windows 11. So you aren't forced to stay on Windows 10 and pay every year for security updates unless you absolutely have to.

May or may not work in future.MS can always block Win11 on non compatible computers or stop offering updates on them.

It seems a lot of users are still operating XP and W7 without MS support!
I dare say a lot of users will use W10 after MS withdraw support.o_O;)

What made me nervous was when our family Dr. office was still usingWin XP about 3 or 4 years ago. They are affiliated with one of the largest hospitals around here. They have since went to Win 10

MrBill, they were probably paying an annual fee to MS for extended Security Patches.
I'm pretty sure large Corporations, Banks, Education Boards and City Councils etc, were offered this to give them time to change their systems over.
If you were to survey the subject, I'm sure we would be surprised how many are still using outdated OS's! (without support).

Most of the ATM's in India are using WinXP. Don't think anybody has even updated them with the available patches.

MS would again replay this in 6-7 years when it "retires" Win11. Wonder how many perfectly good devices would end up in landfill, not to talk about the added useless expenditure in upgrading the devices.
