    I think following Bill's Post that I did notice an 'adjustment/fine tune' which happened over a few seconds on my comp after the update and Restart. But I haven't noticed any great change in the comp's operation since.

    I haven't noticed any degradation either. Consumers probably won't. The performance hit seems to affect mainly servers.

    The AMD PC's with CPU's around year 2000 and on which worked with W10 before the 'patch' - up to 17 year old CPU's?

    Even I have an old PC - Athlon X2, but it's still going strong.

    Well, not 17 years old, I think. Athlon X2 was introduced in 2005 and Athlon II X2 was introduced in 2009 (based on Phenom II which is running the show in my BOAC).

    The patch installed fine for me on my Windows 7 AMD Ryzen 1800X system and I haven't noticed any performance difference.

    It will be interesting to see if motherboard manufacturers will address the Spectre and Meltdown flaws via updated BIOS/UEFI versions in the coming months.
