    Better Details

Ok, I got better details about when the pop up occurred for my friend.

She was copying the photos from her camera disks, and put them into My Pictures. At that point, Carbonite autobacks up.
She said the pop ups hit if she had the file manager in windows open when she was transferring those files, and after she closed Firefox.
As long as the computer sat idle, no pop ups.

So.... I am going to put some photos into her My Pictures folder tonight, and then see what happens when Carbonite starts the backup.

If that is clear then I will take the pc back and work on the router.

Installed a new router, all is good so far.

Working on a laptop and a couple of external hard drives now to check for infections.

    Thanks for the help.

    I will close this.
