Things are much better than that scan report makes it appear.

First, click Start>Run and type ComboFix /u then hit enter. This will uninstall ComboFix and remove the things quarantined by ComboFix, VundoFix and Deckard's.

Delete VundoFix.exe if you haven't already.

Delete the following infected items.

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\desktrf-cat_b2s.exe

Open your Norton antivirus control panel and Delete all quarantined items.

• Right click the desktop and select properties.
• Select the Desktop tab then click Customize Desktop.
• Select the Web tab.
• Select and delete the entry containing C:\WINDOWS\warnhp.html
• OK out.

Run ATF Cleaner again, making sure to empty the Recycle Bin.


If you're satisfied that the computer is working properly, clear the System Restore points. They are infected.

Clear past system restore points and create a new one.
Right click My Computer and select Properties. On the System Restore tab, check the box to turn System Restore off. Click Apply. Now, uncheck the box and click Apply. Click OK, then OK to close the System Properties dialog.

Verify a new restore point was created.
Click Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
Select 'Restore my computer to an earlier time', then click next.
You should have a newly created System Checkpoint available. If so, click Cancel. If not, click Back and select 'Create a restore point' then click Next. Give the restore point a name and click next.

Thank you so much for all of your help. I really appreciate everything you have done. Sometimes computer problems can be so frustrating as I'm sure you know. I did everything you instructed except I could not delete the warnhp.html from the Customize Desktop part because it was actually not there, so I'm not sure about that. Other than that everything went smoothly! Let me know if there is anything that I should do about the warnhp.html. If not, thank you again and I hope 2008 is a virus free year both for us!
