About a week ago I lost the very nice feature when scanning the topics in the forum where you see the first few lines pop-up as you scan.

I have no other problem with pop ups in my other programs. I'm using XP-home with SP2 and a wireless Logitech kb and mouse. I've added no major sw other than latest MS provided updates.

Any idea how to fix this?

There are two camps on this - when enabled in software it can be enabled/disabled in your User CP.

I am in the 'I Want it' camp :)

I LOVED IT because it made my scanning much more time efficient. In fact I've been trying to get several other forums I belong to to ADD IT!

Why in the world would you NOT want a feature that only saves you time?
(particularly as it seems from above that you have the option to use the CP and turn it off?)

The option to turn it off/on via user cp never worked. :(

    1. Just curious, why was the pop-up featured discontinued?

    2. Why don't you take an informal poll and see what the members actually prefer?

I disabled it, because it drives me crazy, and it's my forum ;)

When I updated the forum software a few weeks ago, the user selection from the users CP stopped working, and I can't live with it 'on'.

    It may return later.

    I concur with PeteC. :D

I found it very useful too when skimming through the different subject matters and would read the whole posting if I thought it might be some information that I felt I might need someday. It does take alot longer now but I do read through many of them anyway, just in case!

As a non-paying member, I feel guilty for even suggesting/requesting that it be brought back. I hope to one day be able to become a subscribing member!

I did like this suggestion too:
I have learned alot of valuable information through this forum though and want to thank everyone that contributes to it!!

I'm in the "don't want it" camp and agree it would be ideal for it to be the user's choice :)

Again: If I can get the user choice option working, I'll get it back.

There's no need for a poll, if I can't get it as a user-selectable option, it will not come back.

Oh, and it'll take time before I can investigate this further, I have some other urgent projects to finish.

Ari, thanks and good luck with getting it to work.
