    using xp, sp3, latest flashview.
problem: online videos such as youtube.com, foxnews.com are out of video-audio sync.
have tried all solutions i have come across: such as older flash version, close acceleraters, reinstall xp, etc.
i have 2nd computer with xp and there is no problem.
    thanks in advance

Hi flamshlo. Do you have the latest video, audio, and chipset drivers installed for your system?

Have you tried a different Internet browser to see if that makes any difference? Do you have Internet Explorer 8 installed?

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

Two things I would check are that the CPU is not overloaded, check the CPU usage in Task Manager, and that your internet connection is not running "slow ".

Have you uninstalled Adobe Flashplayer ( "flashview "?) before installing any other version. I found I had two versions installed, one from Adobe, another as an add-on from the browser Firefox. I uninstalled both and installed the latest version from Adobe, when I started Firefox, it asked me to install another Flashplayer add-on.

My system was coming to a crawl, appartently because the two versions of Flashplayer were trying to run at the same time. I went back to a previous version of Flashplayer, that I expect will work in both Firefox and IE, it seems to be working.

That is what I would suggest from what you say and my experience.

Note: many youtube videos have audio and video out of sync before they get uploaded, due to poor transcoding.

thank you for answering. i tried entering my system specs but for some reason they were not entered. here they are:
    PC MAKE: CHAMPION SUPER POWER
    MOTHERBOARD: ASUS, P4U800X-00. CHIPSET ALIM1683, M1563D
    PROCESSOR: INTEL-4 2GH
    MEMORY: 1553 MB, DDR3
DISPLAY ADAPTER: NVIDEO RIVA TNT2 MODEL 64/MODEL 64 PRO
VIDEO MEM SIZE: 32 MB. DIRECT HARDWARE SUPPORT V6.0
(I WONDER IF SUPPORTING UP TO V6.0 CAN CAUSE PROBLEM)
HARD DRIVE: WESTERN WDC WD800JB-00JJJAO 80 GB
    OPTICAL DRIVE: LG LITE-ON 24X/10X/40X
    AUDIO: C-MEDIA, CMI8738/C3DX
    FLOPPY: YES
    INTERNET CONNECTIVITY: ROUTER
    MONITOR: LG FLATRON 2443T
OPERATING SYSTEM: XP HOME SP3 5.1.2600. 32 BIT.

investigating my problem i came across a different problem, somebody switched my
ntoskrnl.exe to a version that doesn't appear in microsoft at all. at least now my computer
runs normally, without constantly shutting down.

i have the latest audio chipset. (the latest eliminated all my choices except the one i was working with). i am convinced it is a video problem and not an audio one.

i am looking into why the video hardware supports only dx v6.0.
i have another problem and wonder if there is any connection. my servor provides me with 15 Mb/s yet when i test it i obtain 10 Mb/s. on my laptop with win7 i get 15 Mb/s as it should.
    thank you for your answer.

my cpu is definitely not overloaded. there is a problem with my internet running at 10 Mb/s when it should be at 15 Mb/s. it is ok on my laptop. this problem has been plagueing me for a long time and maybe linked to my sync problem. i have the latest flash and there are no others installed. as a matter of fact i tried installing an earlier version and i get no video connection at all.
    thank you for answering

if the problem is what you say, then when i play the downloaded item it should also be out of sync. but this is not the case. the downloaded items are perfectly played.
    thanks for answering

I think I may know what your problem is.

Your computer has a very old video card. A NVIDIA RIVA TNT Model 64 is probably part of the reason with why videos are out of sync or lagging. I would start by updating the video driver to the latest version. Download it from here, NVIDIA TNT Model 64 Windows XP Driver.

If you have already updated the video driver then we can probably rule out hardware causing the problem. But keep in mind that your computer would run better if you added some more RAM or replaced the video card with a better one.

Anyway having said that you have not yet answered my question regarding Internet browsers in my first post.

If you have ran Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox and still get videos that are out of sync then I would try performing a clean boot of Windows XP and see if that helps to speed up your system. Take a look here, How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state.

    hi,
your suggestion on adding memory is unfeasible because i have a dual boot with win98 (several programs only work on win98). at one time the memory burnt out and investigated upping my memory. 2000 mb would not be recognized, so am left with 1500 mb option.
i wonder if increasing the memory would solve my problem because i don't have any buffer problems.
per your suggestion i tried mozzila and the problem is even worse. the video looks like stop play action.
i tried the clean boot suggestion but still no luck.
for what it is worth, here is why i find win98 exceptionally useful. i can boot in dos command. i use this to repair my xp registry files if ever my registry is a problem. i do not use any anti-virus because if there is a problem i simply copy my good registry files.i wish there was this capability with the xp or win7 os's.
    thanks once again

You have Internet Explorer 8 installed correct? You could try launching Internet Explorer 8 and clicking Tools< Manage add-ons. Then for toolbars and extensions you could disable all add-ons except Adobe Flash Player. Restart IE8 for the changes to take effect and see if that make any difference.

Your computer does NOT meet the minimum system requirements for Flash Player. That's why videos are out of sync.

    hi,
your suggestion that my computer does not meet the minimum requirements sounds quite
convincing. the 2.33 versus my 2.0 shouldn't make such a difference but the difference between the graphic's card memory of 128 versus my 32 seems logical. i guess one can say that my problem is solved.
    thank you very much

Thanks for letting us know. You probably could replace the video card with one that meets the minimum graphics memory requirement for Adobe Flash Player and that would most likely solve the problem.

FYI, you can download the youtube video to your computer and view it in a media player. When at youtube, add this to the url in the address bar:
    (example only)
    Code:
    http://www.[B][COLOR="Red"]kiss[/COLOR][/B]youtube.com/watch?v=RxZcxkFZZP0
Run the java applet when prompted and select the format to download.
