    Zune Features

What is Zune like feature wise?[/QUOTE]

It has selection as to artist, album, or class of music. I keep it at alphabetical, so that each artist is shown in the center, their names on the left side, and the music on the right. You can get albums in order downloaded or by their opening dates. It is easier in alpha as I have some 2500 discs and 682 artists. The albums show their covers (most of the time) and if you have a favorite that does not, go to Amazon, enlarge their ad for the disc, click to save and return to Zune and paste that cover on the album. Click on an artist and it will show all his downloads you have or on a disc of the artist (providing there are more than one). Free download from Zune web, no other costs. Listen from any point in the menu of songs or from the album itself. I cannot afford a Zune player, but this is a good free program for the computer. It will add the songs to the physical player, I'm told. Burning from the program needs a lot of work, otherwise good.

Sounds good. Do you know if it has the 2 features I'm looking for? Limiting song length and custom EQing ea song?

I don't do that, but as far as I know, unfortunately, no. The song is there from the album, you hit it and it plays. As a player, it is good, but as for editing, I don't think it has that feature. Check out the web site for Zune however, it may have things on it that I have not seen.

    Found this:

    Zune 3.0

    * CNET editors' rating: 3.0 stars Good
    Detailed editors' rating
    Design : 7.0
    Features : 6.0
    Performance : 7.0
    Overall score: 6.7 (3.0 stars)
    * Average user rating: 4.5 stars out of 22 reviews

    Product summary

The good: The Zune jukebox software offers an attractive design, native support for Zune MP3 player hardware, podcast-subscription management, and a fully-stocked music store.

The bad: The Zune software isn't Mac-compatible, only supports Zune MP3 players, and lacks EQ control and Internet radio. The integrated Zune Marketplace doesn't offer movies, and purchases require you to convert your money into blocks of Microsoft Points.

The bottom line: The Zune software is a great complement to the Zune MP3 player, but there are few reasons to use it as a standalone media jukebox.

Still looking for a program to take the place of iTunes.
Winamp is pretty good, but lacks features I'm used to w/ iTunes.
