I downloaded Windows 10 to my PC a couple of weeks ago and everything went fine until last Thursday when it suddenly asked for a password. Not only that, it said I could request a new password at a site that didn't mention Windows or Microsoft.

But I can't access the site unless I can sign in which I can't - none of my old passwords work, so that's ridiculous.

The first few days of this disruption the message did mention a site beginning "Windows..." Both messages appeared against the new W-10 background.

    Might this be a virus?

If not, has anyone a suggestion how to open my PC?

The PC is an HP Pavilion Slimline; I was running Windows 7.

Is there any way I can access my email?

I'm currently using my laptop, but it doesn't have all the stored info I need.

Thanks to whoever can rescue me.

So pretty sure you got infected.

Read this post, then post the requested log(s) in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.

Hi peaudesoie, Welcome to the Board. :) You have been reminded of our Policy regarding 'locked' computers but when you Upgraded to W10 - did you establish an account with MS? Did you get verification of you MS a/c by way of a code?
If so, have you contacted MS for help? Neil.

He/She should at least post in that forum, so the Broni can advise further.
