A friend uses Windows Live Mail and starting in mid-August couldn't send or receive email. She gets "Server Error: 3219" and "...Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00005." I did a bit of research and all that I find indicates that, due to DeltaSync Protocol issues one must create a new account and deactivate the old account.

The Microsoft Community site gave me a fairly comprehensive instruction on how to go through this process but before I start the procedure - that gives me a bit of discomfort - I thought I would check here to see if anyone else has gone through this or if there is another work-around? Any comments?

    Thanks lj50,
Looks like I will have to set up the new account. Nice link you found. Hopefully, between it and the info I got on Microsoft Community, it won't be such a daunting task. Won't have access to the computer until tomorrow. Will report back and let you know how it goes/went.

    lj50,
Took a detour. I convinced my friend to go with Thunderbird in lieu of Windows Live Mail. The install was one of the smoothest I have ever done. Slowed down considerably when downloading the last few of the 1200 emails in the Inbox (left a tasking to do some deletions). She is very happy with Thunderbird. Thanks for your input.
