Broni, I did make jpg files but this message doesn't give me the option to insert image on computer, just insert a URL address or a link address.

Should I just try to delete AOL and re install.

Click "Go Advanced" button under reply button and you'll see "Manage Attachments" button. There you can upload your jpg file.

Little Box Appears with just an x in it

In the advanced menu it will only let me attach a link or URL address???
Is there another way I can send you the attachment?

There has to be something wrong with my setup. First Fran only has Internet Explorer and not Firefox so I put the attachments on a flash drive and went on my computer into Firefox. I still have the same options, not

    Manage Attachments

I must have the wrong settings somewhere that it doesn't allow me to send attachments.
I have to go bowling now but when I get back I will see if I can put them on my web page and send from my URL: larsonjean.com.

More later. I'm really sorry about this problem but I do not have the capability that you have on either Fran's machine or mine.

Go Start>Run (Start Search in Vista/7), type in:
    msconfig
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista/7).

    Click on Startup tab.
    Click Disable all
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.

    Click Services tab.
Put checkmark in Hide all Microsoft services
    Click Disable all.

    Click OK.
    Restart computer in Normal Mode.

NOTE. If you use different firewall, than Windows firewall, turn Windows firewall on, just for this test, since your regular firewall won't be running.
If you use Windows firewall, you're fine.

    Same problem?

ok, I did as instructed and no window came up when the computer was restarted.

I opened up the AOL Desktop and it won't open. Now a screen came up and said:
AOL will now install the files required for you to connect the service. Click Yes to restart the files.

I clicked Yes and now it has asked me to restart the computer.

    Trying to open AOL now.

It told me again to click Yes to install files and restart the computer.

I did again and I still cannot open the AOL Browser. It seems to try to open it but with no luck. I was able to open Internet Explorer with no problem.

I think when it says AOL wants to install files and I say yes, immediately it tells me to start the computer again.

It just is not download the files that need to be there to open AOL Desktop

    What to do???

    Well, you did too much.
I only asked to follow my instructions and see if that popup is still present.
Since we disabled all non-MS items surely some programs won't work.
So don't worry about AOL browser for now.

Go back to "msconfig" and start re-enabling all startups and services you just disabled but only one by one restarting computer each time until you find which item is causing our popup.

OK, I have started the process of opening one thing at a time but will have to continue in the morning as I am too tired to go on tonight.

    More later.

OK, when I turned on the Services - AOL Connection Service I got the little windows box again.

I have not gone any further turning on other things after this.

    What should I do next.

    Clearly it's connected to AOL.
Go back to "msconfig" and re=enable ALL startups and services you disabled previously.

    Then reinstall AOL browser.

I have been trying to reinstall the AOL browser but have given up as it doesn't help the problem. I am going to try to uninstall anything to do with AOL and then retry to install.
    I am getting frustrated.

Is there any particular reason you want to use AOL browser?
I don't think many people use it.

Remember this is not my laptop computer. This is a friend of mine that is in her 80's and doesn't want to switch after all the years she has been using it.

Personally I do not like AOL at all.

I deleted all the AOL software from her computer and I am now reinstalling it. I pray it works.

    I'll let you know soon.

You won't believe this. I reinstalled and there was no problems.
When I double clicked the AOL icon again, I got that horrible little window that just says 'OK'.

I had to click it 4 times before the AOL software opened.

Should I just give up? I never in my life saw anything like this.

I'm not familiar with AOL at all and the access to malware removal forum is very limited (just you and me).
Since this is not malware related anymore I suggest new topic in Windows or Internet forum.
