I am Having a problem with my XP computer communicating with my Lexmark network printer. I know the problem is with the LexBce Server service not running and I can't get it to start. Is this service part of XP or the Lexmark printer software. Regardless, does anyone know how I can fix this problem without doing a system recovery. I have try restore with no luck. Any suggestions out there.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Post the full error message the service gives when trying to restart.

Look in Event Viewer for additional details.

It would be part of the Lexmark software.

I would uninstall the device then reinstall it. If that does not work, I would connect the printer up directly to make sure it still works.

Hey Bill right on target. Problem solve, Thanks. I normally do the uninstall and install when all else fails, but for some reason I got hung up on the problem and never even thought about doing that.

    Again Thanks.

You are quite welcome and I am glad it was something relatively simple to fix. It is often easy to overlook the obvious - like, is it plugged in and turned on? I suspect you would have come back to reinstalling the drivers if I had not suggested it.

    Thanks for the followup.
