Laptop extremely slow

    The Network card is not even installed now so we get it back and we should be able to get online.

    Reminds me Dell usually put it drivers in a Dell folder c:\Dell\Drivers\network or something.

    Browse c:\ and see if you can dind it. Or use search to search for Broadcom

    If you can't find it:

    Here is the driver you need from. Your laptop uses the Broadcom NIC

    http://support.us.dell.com/support/...aseid=R71768&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=93148

    Download this on the Desktop cpmputer burn it to cd or put it on a floppy.

    Try that and get back to me.

    The download contained, mostly, gif files, no exe files, how do I run this?.

    Back to device manager to see if it is there now. May be there but have error.

    Have 2 new entries in device manager, both have yellow exclamation marks, "Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller #2 & Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection #2 "

    Was unable to remove "Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller #2 ", message appeared "Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be required to boot up thr computr "
    Am rebooting now & will try & remove again & rebot again.

    This is taking forever. Lets quit for now.

    Let me see if I can research this issue and compose a detailed procedure offline and post to you later. Instead of 1 step at a time.
