I have heard that Weatherbug is spyware...I had it a few years ago and got rid of it because I was constantly spammed by someone called Stephanie who demanded to know why I wasn't using it more often. I repeated asked her to stop sending me email but it did no good.
I wonder if it has changed ...I haven't had it for about 4 years...

Does anyone know anything about Weatherbug?

Weatherbug isn't actually spyware. The free version does contain adware. I don't know if the download still has a toolbar option. If you want to install it just make sure the toolbar option is unchecked and never click on ads. Also use a pop-up blocker.

I use www.wundergound.com set to my zip code as one of my home pages. It has banner ads but nothing else. And for $10 a year you can get rid of the ads.

I also use wunderground. The ads don't bother me...I don't even notice them...a friend of mine pays only $5 a year for the ad free wunderground, not $10. I also use Weatherwatcher...I find these two much more reliable than the TV weather with its would be actors and the *sky is falling* hysteria...LOL...They can't use adjectives like hot or cold; they have to use frigid Arctic blast, and blazing hot:eek: Some of the announcers are not as bad as others but some think they are contending for an Oscar...

    WeatherBug

Hi, I am CTO at WeatherBug. We have done a lot of new things in the past 4 years. We have listened to a lot of feedback and I think you will find we are very user-focused.

We are not just about a desktop download any more, although we still have lots of people using our desktop app. We now have a destination web site, and lots of widgets and gadgets you can get for Vista, Google, Firefox, whatever you like.

We have a couple blogs that we keep going.

Inside WeatherBug is the more fun/technical one that you should check out to see all the latest things going on if you are interested.

I monitor feedback coming from this page:

...if you have additional questions or comments and will do my best to answer any questions here as well.

    Chris
