The item in the attached picture has been on a pole next to my house since I bought it four years ago. I finally took it down yesterday.

    Is is useful for anything?

I googled it but got more questions than answers.

    Mitch,
it looks like a omni-directional tv antenna? apart from that you might get a few bob down at the scrapyard??:)
When we bought our house it had a couple of satellite dishes on the roof, we neither use or need satelite tv so we gave them away to whoever wanted them.
Probably not the answer you where looking for but, thought it might help?!

    regards Jac

I too have two dishes on my roof. I left them there thinking it'd cost a fortune to make sure the roof doesn't leak.

That's a fine answer..I just didn't know if it was useful as old as it likely is. Guess I'll jus toss it in the trash. Thanks

You could just remove the dish & stand and leave the base on the roof. I think there's a bolt and a couple of screws holding it on. If you remove the base, you could fill the holes with a roofing cement called wet and dry. Or you could just leave them until you put on a new roof and let the contractor fix the holes.
