    Battery problem

    Missy77,
Batteries do not like being kept fully charged all the time. They can get a memory, or lose capacity. If it is not drawing current on charge because of this, the computer may think it is fully charged. To get maximum life from a battery it needs to be charged and discharged on a regular basis. Every week or so, disconnect your ac adaptor and run the battery down to nearly flat, then put it back on the charger. This will give u max life from the battery. I don't know where u are located, so I cannot advise where to get a new battery from. Just don't buy a second hand one from Ebay. There should be heaps of online stores that would have new one's in stock.

Run powercfg /energy from a (admin) command prompt.

When finished, copy C:\Windows\System32\energy-report.html to the desktop & open it with IE.

Now look at the Battery information. It will show you Design Capacity & Last Full Charge.

I did this test a few days before my battery failed, and the last full charge was around 25-30% less than its design capacity.

You can't. It is a Windows 7 command, but since you never entered your System Details, I had no idea which OS you had.
