Resolved is hushmail being blocked?

the files from Major Geek will not extract for me.

I went ahead and tried Revo to remove both msjavx86.exe and unmsjavx.86 (which is I think) major geeks program.

I did this after I received an email response from this site regarding the other thread I posted about Major Geeks being a scam site. But this email brought me to a dead link. In fact I could not connect to this site at all, so I assumed I had been kicked off. That's why I had to go ahead and use Revo.



I could not find either of these files (msjavx86.exe and unmsjavx.86) listed in the Revo window.

I couldn't find any MS java program in add/remove programs.

so I used the 'hunter" tool that sits on the desktop. I dragged it over both exe files. But after I had uninstalled them, they remained on the desktop as before.


So I just manually deleted them.

If I need to reinstall XP it should become evident in a few hours.

I posted a separate thread on Major Geek because even though it came up in this thread, if Major Geek is doing this to people, then it is an issue by itself

MAJOR GEEKS is NOT a bad site. Like others stated, it has been used many many times and has been around for years.

Maybe you should contact them and tell them what happened. I have seen them post in other Forums when somebody supposedly had problems with them and they got it straight.

I don't know what tracert means.

in LAN settings "Automatically Detect Settings" is checked.

"Use automatic configuration script" is greyed out but it has hushmail in the box.

I am going to try checking this last one to see if I can get hushmail again.

That was it. I can get hushmail again.
It would be nice to know why that happens.

Only "Use system proxy settings is checked"

It would be nice to know what so many proxy controls mean.

 

I was hoping the tool would be available to you. I happen to have the uninstall command string for the MSJVM.
You would use this by going to Start\Run, then copy and paste the entire line and press Enter.
