Since 21 March it appears that any pdf files I receive by email will not download and a black screen with a red "invalid image" appears in the middle of the page. I checked my download file and found some that cause the "invalid image" to appear, all of them on 21 March 2013. The culprit appears to be a visitor using my computer. Previous downloads that I checked appear to be okay, but only tried a few.

Please advise what I can do to to solve this problem.

What Malware/Spyware software programs are you using and how long is it since you ran them on your system?

Do you clear your temporary files regularly?

Please include your System Specs as requested in your profile so we can reply correctly and with knowledge re your system.

    kind regards,

I do clear my temporary files. Where will I find my System specs?
I cannot download any pdf without the invalid image notice coming up.

System Specs http://www.windowsbbs.com/adding_system_specifications.html Admin does ask you to supply your system specs when registering to make it easier for all to answer your queries with more acuracy - take a look in your CP in profile and follow the link above to show them as I have ...thanks

Please make sure your are using cleaning software such as Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware. If these are not on your system or other Anti- malware/spyware, please consider reading about them then downloading them for your own protection.

Yes, I realise you have a PDF issue, but above is part of attempting to correct it.

    kind regards,

    Invalid image

After a huge learning curve, I have managed to put my system specs into my profile as much as I can understand! Thanks for the directions.

I have McAfee Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware running and it is up to date.
PDFs still acting up, they display in the downloads but get the invalid image when open.

You have done very well, but a little more is needed to show them so we can see to allow us to help you further.
Now to your PDF issue, you may need to uninstall and re install whatever PDF software you are running - it could be Foxit (the best in my opinion with a small footprint) or Adobe Reader OR some other which I am not familiar with.

When you are downloading and installing any new software, please disable any third party items not wanted during the installation.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions as you go along - we are here to reply to help you on your way.

    kind regards,

OK, THIS TIME I believe the system specs are now in my profile. Am going into Adobe
    Reader to uninstall and reinstall.

Glad your back, but I am sorry to say, "My System" as shown in my profile above your last post does not show in yours.

Hope re-installing Adobe is the answer to you PDF issue.

    kind regards,

Well, I think I will forget for the time being of putting in all my system specs in my profile......obviously I don't have the knowledge to complete it. BUT I believe that Adobe had been disabled on my computer so I installed Foxit and now can read the pdfs.

Thanks for your help, thanks for hanging in there with me. U.

Good news about Foxit - well done, and you will be pleased with it I am sure.

Perhaps re your System Specs you could get a friend to go through my post # 6 with you as I am sure two heads are better than one to achieve My System showing on your profile.

No problem staying with you on this or anything else you may want to know that I can reply to....

    I am still learning also.

    kind regards,
