Whenever I start Internet Explorer I see it for about 1 second and then it just disappears. No error message or anything, it's just gone. I've tried rolling back to the original version that came with Windows XP Pro, which is my OS, and I've tried updating to the most recent version, and I've tried all versions in between, and none of them will run. By going into Internet Options in the control panel I've cleared everything, history, cookies, form data, temporary internet files, etc. I've set my home page to blank, although for some reason I see IE says "connecting..." for that brief moment it's there.

Every other browser works fine. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi Charles Herold. What version of Internet Explorer is installed?

If you are using Internet Explorer 8 try this, How to reset Internet Explorer settings.

If that doesn't work then run this utility, Repair Internet Explorer With Fix IE Utility.

Also please enter your System Details. It helps us in answering your questions.

Note: A common error is to forget to show your System Details in your profile:

Make sure to do the above when entering your System Details, thanks.

I am using IE8, but resetting didn't help. Neither did the Fix IE Utility. I added my system details, although there are some things I don't know. Thanks.

Does the computer have Service Pack 3 installed?

Try booting the computer into Safe Mode with Networking and see if Internet Explorer 8 works there.

Regarding your System Details you missed the last step.

Your system details are not showing anything at all. Go to User CP near the top left corner and fill that out.

    Thanks...

Okay, I fixed my settings so my system details should be showing.

IE will not run in Safe Mode. Same thing, it appears for a second and then disappears.
