Today, when logging in twice now, I've gotten this message. I don't think WinBBS has been compromised---its just that I'm wondering what might be causing this. Anyone have any idea--is it my browser, or is there an expired certificate, or??? Connection.png

Interesting, just checked with Pale Moon and Vivaldi browsers--nothing.
EDIT: as in, I didn't get that error message with either of those browsers. I suppose it is a Firefox issue?

    I'm trying!
Currently no problems with FF 59.0.2.

OK I think I know. I just searched and found this: Distrust of Symantec TLS Certificates

If in fact this is the case (and please--Arie and whoever else, correct me if this isn't the case), Firefox starting with version 60, will no longer allow access to sites that have a Symantec TLS/SSL certificate--FF tells me that GeoTrust has issued the WindowsBBS certificate, and GeoTrust is listed in the link above, as a Symantec brand.

OK so its not just me here. 60 is scheduled to become a Firefox Release some time the week of Wednesday, 9 May, so from that point onward, FF users will get hit with this connection error I got. All you have to do is hit the advanced tab, and then tell FF to store a permanent exception. I suppose most people coming here will know how to do this. It might be surprising, so I'll post something in the Firefox, Thunderbird, and Sea Monkey forum in a week or so, warning people.

FWIW, the Chrome browser team also is moving in this direction. For a timeline, please see the last email on page 11 in this thread (by Darin Fisher, dated 27 July 2017): Google Groups

    Interesting.

Yea, I'll have to get new certificate anyways, as the current one expires May 6th. I wish I could get a "Green Bar" (EV SSL) one, but since I use a PO Box for my business address I can't :(

A PO Box isn't good enough? I guess they just want to make sure you aren't some random hacker. :)
