For sometime now I have noticed that the color displayed by my monitor has changed colors in the way it is displays colors.
My monitor is a SONY CPD -200SX ANALOG monitor and the video card is a Radeon 7200 series, and my operating system is Windows XP PRO SP3.

I wondered if my monitor was beginning to 'die' due to being an older monitor. I connected my PC to another analog monitor, and had the same display issues. I connected my wife’s Computer to the same monitor, and there were no display issues.

Connecting my wife’s Computer to my monitor, and I received the same display issues as when my PC is connected. With that process of elimination, it points to the display is with my PC. By the way, my wife’s PC has the same operating system Windows XP PRO SP3, and the same video card, a Radeon 7200 series.

I also noticed that when I right click on my “C” drive and click on “properties”, the drive usage and the unused areas are all blue, instead of blue for the usage area, and magenta/pink for the unused area of the drive. This display is noted on all additional hard drives in the PC.

Has anyone had this problem? At first I thought that it might be the driver. I have downloaded and updated to the latest for the video card driver and installed it and there is no difference. I switched the video card, and to no avail. Perhaps it is a software issue? I have invested in “Regcure” and “Spotmau 2007 and 2008” individually, and still the problem exists. I am planning on upgrading to a new LCD monitor in about 3-4 months. For the moment, any other suggestions or proven fixes will be greatly appreciated.

You have covered all eventualities except one ....

Check on the mobo manufacturer's website for updated chipset drivers.

We encourage all members to complete their System Specifications which help us to help you :)
You would be well advised to steer very clear of any form of Registry cleaner - they can do more harm than good and rarely, if ever resolve a problem. In some cases they render the computer unbootable.

There are extreme cases where the use of a registry cleaner may be beneficial, but these are few and far between and are for experienced users only.

Please complete your systen details as outlined in the link I posted and make them visible - see My System under my details in the left pane.

Running SIW should tell you the model number of the motherboard and you can then go to Intel to download the drivers.

Alternatively run the Intel Driver Update Utility -
