:confused:Its odd. From the desktop mode it connects fine. From metro is cannot connect. I'd search but I am on my way to work so I took the easy way out.

Care to explain? There have been some reports of Windows 8 Apps not working. One of the causes is that the DNS Client Service is rot running.

I'm sorry I was in a depressed mood.

I hadn't thought about the DNS Client Service. I remember now I had set it to manual some time back - can't remember why though.

I did the refresh because I had searched and found a couple of recommendations for fixing my problem. Unfortunately I didn't do my homework first and I find a "refresh" is basically " "get rid of everything and go back to a clean system" ". Everything I had installed was sent to Windows.old That isn't a show stopper since I have the original software but a time consumer.

    I feel so stupid - -
