Friends PC which is 100% up to date from MS and also has all updates to Adobe Flash, Shockwave, PDF Reader and uses AVG.

When you open up IE and go to Google, type in what you want, it acts like it is going to go to the page but never does. The Status bar goes across like it is loading the page, but the page comes up blank. Home page is MSN and the Bing search bar is in it and it works just fine. Safe Mode does the same thing.

Any ideas will be appreciated. I even got rid of the Google short cut and made a new one. Even typing Google.com in the IE search window, brings up the Google page and then you can search and still won't load what you are searching for. No hits at all.

Did you try resetting IE back to defaults?

(In IE, click Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab > "Restore advanced settings" button, then the "Reset..." button > select the "Delete personal settings" button > "Reset" button. Close IE, reopen and try Google again).

No I didn't. Figured in Safe Mode it loaded default. Will get with them probably this evening and have them try it.

Same problem. Open the google page and type something in the bar and then hit enter or click on search and it acts like it is going someplace and then just leaves a blank page with none of the results in it.

IE is the only browser that they have. I will get with them and see what they want to do.

They can get to Google with no problem. When you type something in the search bar, it will show you different places like usuall. when you pick one, it will never go there. Just shows a blank page like you wiped the page clean.

MBAM is up to date and came up clean on a full scan as well as Spybot and AVG. I will try to get with them over the weekend.

His wife did mention to me that sometimes when on FaceBook, she can't chat with anybody at all. Said she can bring up the chat, but can't type in it.

Safe Mode as posted in post #3 does the same thing.
Will go over there and download FF and see what happens. I wouldn't download Chrome if it was the only browser in the world. Hate it.

Everything is back to normal. Didn't do a thing and didn't download another search engine. Just started working. I guess I wil mark this as resolved for now.
