    About "FindDups" utility

brett, I'm reading in the Help file that this utility was designed to run in Win95 OS... :(

Sorry but I don't trust a program which has never been updated in the last FIVE years... Better safe than sorry is an old american saying I like very much!

I really do appreciate your efforts to help me but I wish to solve ONE problem w/o adding some new ones preferably... am I paranoic? well, just a little bit maybe... ;)

    Cheers

It actually runs perfectly well under Win98SE (which is the OS that I too use). All the utility does is to identify duplicate DLL's (ie those files which share the same name as another file on your drive). It doesn't delete or rename any files (that's a job for you to do manually!) - it just lists them - so running it can't harm your system! Also, it just might indicate that you *don't* have any duplicates in which case you'll know that the cause of the problem lies elsewhere.
