Resolved I need help with windows update not installing sp1

    Thanks to both of you...James the tool would not download at all...



    Evan I tried running 2 different ones of the 10 listed and when I tried to run the install from the download I get:
    error running update detection

    What is the entire error message of the updates that do not install? Do you have Office 2007 Service Pack 3 installed?

    Evan, I tried to install the download of office 2007 sp3 and it would not install. It said: "the installation of this package failed" The other updates just gave me error 8007066f, "the updates were not installed "

    James, I did install the last scan you provided and it showed the updates I was missing but still can't install them...

    Did you look under *scan reports* to see if there were any suggested corrective actions?

    You may have to repair or reinstall Office 2007 depending on what Evan suggests.

    Yes it just suggested to download and install from the list it gave me...I am guessing it may not work until I install the sp3...???

    Did you try inserting the Office CD into the drive and installing the update? If that doesn't work then you most likely will need to uninstall Office 2007, reinstall Office 2007 and then apply Office 2007 Service Pack 3 to the clean install of the program and it should work.

    I've read that plenty of other users have had this problem with Microsoft Office with no known solution other than reinstalling the application.
