We are having problems here as your file name(s) keep changing - the exact name, with the '.' in the right place is vital.

msvcr.7dll should certainly be msvcr7.dll, but I suspect it should be msvcr712.dll. Both files exist.

Please go back to Event Viewer, open up the last of the Internet Explorer errors noting this file - double click on the message to expand it and then on the icon below the up/down arrows to copy it to the clipboard and paste it into your next post here.

acropdf.dll is part of Acrobat Reader - either uninstall it or repair it as outlined here ....

Configure Internet Explorer or AOL to display PDF files (Acrobat 7.0, Acrobat 3D, Adobe Reader 7.0 on Windows) - Section 6 Repair Acrobat.

Please also let us know which version of XP you are running - Home, Pro, Media Centre, Tablet PC .... This is important

I have uninstalled and reinstalled acrobat reader as you and PeteC suggested.
This seems to have fixed the original problem re ".IE encountered a problem and has to close ".I can now access and download a PDF file from the site I was having problems with.
If the damaged file 9F1C11AA......is harmless I think I'll leave it alone.
Is the Damaged System 32\IUCTL.dll file ok to leave alone also?
I don't have an XP Cd.I can only refer to Restore points[Packard Bell system]
Should I create Master CDs as a safety measure? Thank you.

Does your Packard Bell give you the opportunity to make Restore CD's? If so you would be well advised to do it.
