Resolved how to delete Alot

Do I need another program to delete Alot? Where did it come from?

 

vista and firefox

 

using control panel, I deleted the listing Alot Toolbar but after rebooting, it's still there.

 

also, I googled "delete Alot" and found that Trend Micro flagged most of the choices a bad

 

from the Alot support page

Thank you for your e-mail inquiry. If you have inadvertently installed the free customizable alOt AppBar and/or Homepage, below are instructions for PC-FireFox users:



To uninstall the alOt Appbar:



1. On the Firefox browser menu (located at the top of your screen) left-Click on Tools

2. In the drop down menu, select Add-ons,

3. In the Add-ons window, select "Extensions"

4. Select alOt Toolbar and click on it to highlight

5. Click on the Options button, in the pop-up window uncheck all boxes that have a check mark, click OK

6. Click on the Remove or Uninstall button for alOt Toolbar

7. The dialog will then indicate that the alOt Toolbar will be uninstalled when Firefox is restarted, select Restart now

8. To complete the uninstall, close FireFox again then reopen your Firefox browser



To change your home page:



1. Go to the site you want to be your homepage (example go to: http://www.google.com, http://www.yahoo.com, etc.

2. Then on the Firefox menu, left-click Tools

3. Select Options

4. On the General tab, under the Startup section, click Use Current Page.

5. Click OK
